Wireless standards and what they mean

WIth the up coming phones on the Verizon, at&t, T-mobile are saying that they are 4G, but what does it really even mean. This is a time line going from the 1980's with the brick 1G phones that could very little to the new state-of-the-art phones that promise dual core cpu's high-res screens and basically replace your laptop. Cheers

Google CR-48

Long time nothing posted on this.  Well it appears that google is starting back up of sending the test device back into the wild and this time coming with stickers.  Well this blogger hasn't seen one come his way that doesn't mean that their isn't hope that i won't be seeing one(Fingers crossed).  More info at
The Chrome Source. Having that would make blogging a lot easier and doing hw and staying connected with a nice little device.

Motorola XOOM

The Motorola XOOM looks like a very worthy competitor to the Ipad when comparing features and software.  tho it isn't the only tablet being launched from after CES its easily the most mentioned.  However, reports coming from best-buy and other sources to the Droid-life blog reported that the pricing is going to be $799.99 putting it in direct competition to the 64 GB 3G and wifi Ipad.  This price is unsubsidized and with 3G later upgradeable to 4G.  Toshiba, LG, HTC have all readying tablets to launch by the end of February.  Hope the competition lowers the prices.

Android 3.0 SDK

So yesterday 26 JAN 2011 the Honeycomb Software Developers Kit (SDK) was launched. Going through the SDk and the most noticeable problem is that its pretty much useless.  The SDK and the ANDROID platform is made for the ARM architecture and the the SDK is attempting to emulate it, and its not working to well.  Google has noticed this problem and said to working on a fix.  Other than the harshness of the software at this moment 3.0 looks like it could be a very good competitor to the ipad.  Keeping in mind that this is an OS that was made for a tablet. Unlike the ipad in my honest opinion it feels like using an oversized ipod or iphone.
On another note the 3.0 software is being made to handle the new NIVIDA Tegra 2 cpus that will be clocked at 1.0ghz.  and have Graphical hardware acceleration and support for large screens. Notice the word support their is no hardware minium for the 3.0 not this doesn't mean its getting ported to The G1 but their is always some sliver of hope.

Project Bootloader Freedom created by palmercurling <-- is a link for any DROID X/2 user. This is a new challenger to unlock a the Motorola boot manager. He is going to to be using the kexec module to skip most of the start up processes at boot and be able to final flash complete custom roms and kernels on the the DX and D2. Good luck i would like for this to succeed.

Cool

Well it looks like blogger is letting me post another well um post (hate redundancy).  Its 2011. My first post this year, better late then never right?  Well we had CES already and motorola announced some new products. They showed of the Bionic and XOOM. The Bionic is the first 4g phone from Motorola and the XOOM (pronounced exume) is going to be the first 3.0 honeycomb tablet. The XOOM is a 3g device but their is rumored to be a wifi device in the works, also the 3g device will be upgradeable to 4g at a later date.  Also The North American international car show passed most notably BMW finally launched the 1 Series M. A nice litte car with the N4 Twin Turbo straight 6. Its the cheapest m car in the line up at $47,000.
